i am using dvd2svcd to rip/encode dvd's, very sucessfully i might add. i tried a few different encoding parameters (single pass with temporal smoothing; f*cked around with the strengths and radii) i am now trying an encode with 6 passes, all else being left at default settings in dvd2svcd. ami nuts? is 6 too many? what is the point where more passes become useless? thanks

If you have plenty of time on your hands, why not :) But I've found that 4 passes gives you pretty optimum results and further tweaking doesn't really (at least I couldn't notice) improve the video quality further.
