Hey, ive been using flashfxp for a long time with a router, but it broke so i bought a hub. Now that i try to connect to my xbox, I first have to changemy ip adress. but, When i change my ip adress to use the following it says: MICROSOFT TCP/IP: The static ip adress that was just configured is already in use on the network. Please reconfigure a different IP adress. My hub is a Netgear Ethernet HUB Model EN 104. Is it the HUB or what? Thanks for your help.
If the only devices on your hub are your xbox and PC at the time of the error; that means they both have the same IP address. What you should do is create a Static IP for both devices and any others you may add to the hub later so you don't get conflicting IP errors in the future. Not sure how to setup a Static IP on your PC?? Go here: http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm Select your Operating System and follow the guide. I suggest doing your PC first because there are some things that will be needed from there to setup your xbox (i.e. Subnet, Default Gateway, etc.) If you don't know how to make your xbox static, follow the tutorial in my signature block. How to FTP...Made Easy!! It' has the steps within for the setup.
