is it possible to store the xbox games on my computers hdd and play them on my xbox? because they are connected through ftp i dont think it is possible though
No you can not play Games over a Network the Game must reside on your XBOX™ beit on the Original Game Disc, A Copy (e.g. Backup), or on the Local HDD of your XBOX™...
Even if you were able to there would probably be a lag with certain games and loading processes because it travels over a network. As a matter of fact, there is a speed difference for game loads when they are on the xbox hdd versus being run off a disc. Just think how long certain things could take over a network.
@hunkre It's a good idea though and I'm sure it will be an option in the future, it's just right now...even it was possible it may be more trouble than it's worth. Who knows...maybe that capability is in the works...
I am a novice when it comes to a Modded Xbox but I can tell you that with a Mod Chip your Xbox will allow you to map a network drive and play movies and audio off a server. The only problem I would see is that the Xbox files are Linux and you cant simply copy the contents of an Xbox game paste them to a Windows server and expect to play them. Perhaps if you had a server running Linux this might work but I am guessing. Considering to make this work you would need a mod chip you would be better off just storing the games on the Xbox hard drive and play from there. You can fit a lot of games on a 120 Gig drive.
Noted and yes that works fine (I do it all the time) but of course you must know that comparing an xbox game...to an mp3 or a movie file is nothing close.
ok never mind you can leave it open lol well im just thinking that useing a program like beast or something that actually allows you to take over or physically share your computer may be able to install on an xbox and then you could steal your own cpu ip adress and boot them from your cpu and since you are use ing an xbox the files would boot as a .xbe file and be normal just came up with that in 2 secs wow anyways now comes the hard part getting an ip sharer or stealer on xbox....
