My cousin has told me of a thing that an xbox bought before a certain date is a fire safety hazard and that you need a new type of cable which you can get for free somewhere. Does anybody know where to get these cables because i dont want my xbox to burn because that will burn my whole house down because of the place ive put it in. And we hardly turn off our xbox so its a big risk for us.

I think this happened to like 2 or 3 people, where their Xbox actually started smokin. So the chances of it happening to your v1.0 Xbox is about a million to 1. But, their giving you the powercord for free, so you might as well take it

I'm not saying you should or shouldn't actually use the power supply, as that is obviously up to you. All I am saying is that when somebody offers you something for free, you should take it no questions asked
