the thread about the new ranks wazs closed and i wanted to right it here... i think that there should be more admins or a new type called officers or sumthing that give points to ppl that make good posts rather than having how many posts.. that way ppl could work on the quality of there posts rather than quantity.. because there are alot of ppl who will post things over and over again when they could just click the edit button like i did here.. thats just my two cents.. and remove this thread if u need to... but there should be a place to talk about these general things
there is a place for this...in the general forums, called Afterdawn Feedback & Suggestions. and something like this is in the works. the system will work based on the votes of members, senior members, addicts, and so on...only newbies and junior members will be excluded.
honestly, what does rank matter anyway? all people do is make pointless posts to drive up their post number to increase their rank when people only respect rank. give good advice, and your reputation alone will be enough.

*shrugs* there are no moral absolutes; it's up to you to decide what's right and wrong. but personally, i never make a post, even in the safety valve, unless i feel it adds at least either a hint of information or a constructive element to the discussion at hand. useless posts are exactly that--useless. in the end, what's the point of driving up your rank with useless posts. doesn't that just take away what that rank means? anyone and everyone can drive up their ranks by posting for no good reason, and thus the purpose of ranks is defeated: members are no longer given a separate title for how helpful they are. the rank is only based on a ratio of posts. then that begs the question of, "are the useless posts worth it?" for a rank that doesn't matter anymore...it's a vicious circle. in a world with no moral absolutes, you must carve your own rules into the walls around you; etch your commandments into stone, and carry them from the clouds of your mind to your hands at the keyboard. be warned, though: too many useless posts, and not even god will save you from Neph.
Whats the point of your rank oooooooooooo ahhhhhhhhh look at me im a afterdawn adicts if you really look its not even that cool the whole point of afterdawn is helping out people and asking smart tech question and sometimes when your bored you can go to the safty vavle and have a LITTLE fun!!

It would be nice if there was someone 2 sort out the real dumb post from the helpful and intelligent post half the people would have about what 20-50 beside the people who work hard everyday to help out noobs and othere member,I cheer for tose member ,GO MEMBER ON AD WHO HELP!!!
If it wasnt for them Ad would have been a mess with spammers ,double or triple posters and useless poster,Atleast they ban people before they go crazy and mess up everything with there lousy posting ability
