Hmm, nero should do it either way or Intervideo DVDCopy will burn on the fly if 4.38 gb or less.

You can do that with Nero Burning ROM if you wish. (Although as stated previously, "On the Fly" burning is strongly not recommended).

Ripping on the fly with my benq 1620 using my basic nero oem 6.0.0.21b, no problemo. Both original and backup on the fly rip/burn is no problemo.

Ripping on the fly with some of my other dvd burners, not so lucky. Some of them have trouble with on the fly process. Some dvd-rw burners backups may have more errors, making this on the fly re-rip more difficult.

What's the brand names and model# of those 2 drives?

Well nero is getting me peed off because it wants to make an iso instead of burning disc to disc roxio has a disc copier and its flawless but nero has a better dvd burning program why can't we get everything in one package sux

elliot: Nero and roxio sometimes conflict with each other. Both have packets that can screw up dvd burning. Nero's INCD packet and Roxio's Drag to Disc packet are usually not advised to be downloaded.

I've got sonic record now. My first Disc to disc copy with that program took 20 mins whereas nero takes me 15 mins with both of them at a 4x burn speed.

my preferred way to do backup from a backup is to copy/paste the video_ts folder via windows explorer, then 'dvd-video' burn in Nero Burning Rom. flawless process in something like 1500 burns. it takes 15mins max to copy in this way, then 15mins max burning the new disc at 4x

    Saugmon,
I never load Incd or drag to disc hate those programs do you know if I just load Roxio disc creator classic, dvd builder(makes better vcds)with disc copier and just Nero vision express if there would be a conflict? That is what I am thinking of doing.
Creaky that is an excellent Idea.

I am no fan of roxio. As long as you don't have INCD and Drag to Disc, then you may be ok.

If they still conflict, then you want to remove roxio with a tool called roxizapper. You'll want to remove nero with Nero cleantool. These tools will rid those programs entirely off your pc.
