I have WOW cable. I also have the Scientific Atlanta 8000 HD HDTV box with DVR. I want to copy shows recorde from there to my Sony DVD recorder. Can I do it? I have done the VCR to the DVD recorder. The Sony recorder has SVHS and composite inputs. Can it be done?

Yes ... I transfer DVD material between a Philips DVP642 and a LiteOn LVW-5005 using S-Video and RCA (audio) between the two ... It even works for copy protected discs

So if I were to get a s-video cable and hook it up to my Toshiba DVD player and then my DVD recorder, I could record DVD movies and even one that are protected, Is that right?

    Thanks,
    Phil

Unless you can find a Macrovision hack for your Sony, you won't be able to copy copy protected DVDs ...

    My LiteOn disregards Macrovision
