help wont reconise blank discs

    ive recently moved to a new country and im using my friends Dell computer
    the computer i used at home was also dell

    my problem is when i come to the burning stage (i burn from images made with shrink) the burning software wont regonise that theres a blank disk ive tried 2 different programs and its like theres no disk there

    ide apreciate any help im not a newbie but i simply cant think of any reason for this

    Best guess with info provided: that dell's burner doesn't like the media you are using. What brand of media in the burner?

    i tried 2 mitsubishi and cheap datalot

    my dell pc in england worked with all media i used the very cheapest disks with no problems

    oh the other thing i forgot to mension is that the computer im using now is a laptop where my computer at home wasnt

    i would try a firmware update to the drive... alot update the capability of reading new medias...

    how do i update my filmware?

    its strange because it recognises it if you just open it as a folder it just isnt recognised in the burning programs

    you need to identify your drive / firmware to date then get new file and load/install it...
