hi all,
my application is a VoD server. it is someone's proprietry server based on linux that i was trying to get started. The vendor kept on saying that it requires MPEG-2 and only recently I found out that the MPEG-2 only is not sufficient... it has to be encoded using Ligos's encoder. Okay so I downloaded the software and found out that it would require .avi files as source files. Okay I found them too... but the system is PAL that means the input requirement for .avi is 704 x 576 because if I use .avi of lower resolution and then convert it to this PAL resolution, i lose the quality.
I still haven't been able to find out the 704 x 576 .avi file... where is that available?
conversion from vcd to .avi and then to this mpeg didn't play either... any ideas? any solution? any thing that would resolve this issue and i be able to play good quality videos on my VoD?
