Hello, I am new to burning VCDs...I've been doing a lot of research in the forum and have used many threads of advice from the user Dela (very helpful) and DrD.....I can't seem to find a lot of info on this subject, though.....
I've downloaded some avi movies and the ACEMP codec package---everything is fine here-they play on the DivX player and all is well--when I set up TMPG to encode the avi to MPEG1 for VCD, I followed directions from Dela and configured TMPG to use very high quality to encode..I'm also using tooLame.exe for the layer II audio.....the encoding process is only 30% complete and the process has been running for over 10 hours now--and this is only the first half of the movie....?
I have a 650 Mhz athlon processor and 25 GB of free space on my C: drive--if that matters..
Please advise as to a way to speed up this process and still receive high quality VCDs---this forum is excellent and thank you in advance for your help.

Ideally you need a more powerful computer - 1.0 Ghz or more is better for encoding video. Also, check that the task priority is set to Normal or High - not Idle :)
