Alright! I've seen countless amount of threads like this. But all of them have inconclusive endings. I just want yall to walk me through it. Here we go! I have a .avi file that I want to burn onto a DVD+R. I also have a .srt file that I want to include in the DVD, so that I can see some subtitles. I have 'VSO Divx to DVD' I guess I use this to convert to a proper format. I have 'DVD Lab Pro' I guess I use it to burn and combine the subtitles and movie. I also have 'VirtualDub' and 'tmpgenc' I'm not sure I need these... ------------------------------------- Here's the thing, I've went through hell and crapped out 2 decent VCDs. This is my first time doing a DVD so...I'm not quite sure how to tackle it. I'd like to know how to run 'DVD Lab Pro' so that I can get the movie to show subtitles when I play it in my DVD player. Step by step would be fantastic! I think this question is a simple one in the eyes of a pro. So any help would be much obliged. If you need additional information, I'll try to answer it. Thanks in advance.
Hi there, VSO DivxToDVD v1.99.19 Pre-Release can convert your .avi to DVD, can insert your subtitles (*.srt) and burn it to DVD+R since it has it's built in burn engine. The trial version will be 50% slower and insert a watermark on your output. But when puchased, speed should double and remove the watermark. 1 software is all you need. Several new features to come in the future.
Hmmm...thanks! Apparently I got this really old version: 0.5.2.99 I'm dropping a lot of frames in this old version do you think it would stop that if I use this newer one?
Hi there, VSO DivxToDVD v0.5.2b was a Freeware preview. v1.99.19 Pre-Release has come a long way since, and includes several new features like: - Creation of chapters - Creations of menus (Uses the filename of each file for now) - Built in burn engine - Support SubTitles (*.srt) Go here to see all that was added since v0.5.2b ---> http://www.vso-software.fr/divxtodvd/divxtodvd_history.htm and of course, it's no longer free. The trial will be 50% slower since it includes a watermark on your output files, but can be fully tested before you purchase !
see cougar, its not just me who thinks you get a commision off VSO !! just kidding buddy. @TrueMusou my pal cougar is trying to help you out, listen to him, he knows the VSO software well, as he is also a beta tester for them. i am almost positive i saw them at best buy
hi you could also try avi2dvd and film machine the latter beiong my favourite, they do the lot for you FM will burn too, just like divxtodvd but better quailty end result. both apps free!
Hello Gear79, good one I ain't no salesman. I'm so bad at selling stuff, I probably could not even sell a steak to a guy that haven't eaten in 10 days Salesman LIE ! I'm just a happy user, so I don't LIE hahahaha ! Where's that VSO check ? <Evil Grin>... Just want people to know about the software I like.
as we all do Cougar. and i/we appreciate your input. VSO is a good program, and those who use it know how it works. me personally, i don't use it, but on the other hand, i play with divx alot. but as of late, i have not done any backing up of any kind. i have been too busy playing with my new a/v receiver for my home theater. but too all noobs, if you can't find good proggies, always try Cougar's applications, as they do work, and work well. and on a lighter note, Cougar, if i were hungry, i'd buy that steak from ya ! (try to haggle you down, but i'd buy it.
Yeah I finished running the thing last night and it worked like a charm. It was all great despite the Watermark...whatever though. I can't really complain since the quality wasn't bad at all and the application was super user friendly. It's a good program and I'm glad I now know about it. Thanks!
Oh yeah! Regarding the avi2dvd program, does it leave a watermark? If not I might consider reburning.
hi nope, avi2dvd and film machine (my fav) are FREE! dam good apps too i love um... they can use CCE as the encoder aswell if you wish? but they have there own, i recommend HCenc encoder if not useing CCE. there good as they do the lot for you few clicks and let the sucker ride!
Uh....im using avi2dvd now. It was all good in the beginning. But it's taking ages...around 5 hours now(vs the 1.5 from divxtodvd). How long does it usually take...
whereever your project folder was that either the app made for you or you assigned your own folder the files will be in there ready to burn!
i feel stupid... I took all the files: "audio_t" and "video_t" and shoved it onto the DVD. It doesnt work on the DVD players... I know my problem... I burned it as data through Sonic Digital Media. I tried to get the trial version of Nero and that crap doesn't work. I open it up and it says my trial has ended already... So I'm in a pickle. Unless someone is fimiliar with Sonic I have no idea how to get the files from point A to point B.
use free apps there good load files to dvd shrink hit backup a menu appears and output to dvd decrypter to burn! done!!!
tru....... you're asking for a guide.... well.. here it is....... http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/232876 http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/tutorial007.html use the guides that are helpful to you! Yes, you have to read! sorry...... I was going to make my own guides...... but I don't see myself doing better than what ScubaPete and BBMayo have already done! Besides.... they know much more than I do! so follow those guys guides and enjoy their success like I have!
hi if you used dvd shrink to load files and hit backup (and set to burn with DVD Decrypter) then you should NOT! see dvdD as it only uses the burn engine and doesnt load DvdD up to see it...
