I use Decrypter and shrink, both are up to date. I havent had any burn problems in a good 100 burns but now i am getting fail after fail, and if it doesnt fail then it just backs up and tells me its ready to burn with the appropriate device. My disks are new, however the last few of my old pack i was having the same problems. When it doesnt go straight to burn then i reinstall shrink and that usually works, now not so much. I am currently using TDK 8x dvd-r. I know burning at 4x might work better but im not sure how to do that. Just to add: [bold] Change your media, it might've worked in the past, but it's kind of hit or miss now.
in addition to the other guys' replies... - not too bad, 6.6.0.16 is latest, and most likely last update as version 7 is out imminently - firmware is a few revisions behind, BYX4 is here - http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/firmware.htm#710 - close more programs down prior to any burning - you're burning to outer edge of discs. in DVD Shrink's preferences, set target size to 4300MB, thus avoiding outer edge and not sacrificing much space - i don't/won't use TDK discs and can't remember what the general consensus is on TTG02 discs.. - for some reason you or Nero are trying to 'booktype' -R discs. you can only booktype +R discs. - get that firmware updated and the DMA settings reset - most people recommend 4x for movies - the atapi drivers aren't loaded, which is odd as DMA shows to be ON further up the logfile.. fix them via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm
Ok firmware is updated, and i made sure im in DMA mode. I dont know what booktype is...how do i make sure im not doing it? Also how do i make it burn at 4x? thank you ~Rosalia
in Nero, go to 'Recorder', then 'Choose Recorder', and tell me what the option for booktyping says, it should say auto (the way i have it), in which case ONLY +R discs will be booktyped...
