I have a p3 500mhz 512 ram 40gb hd and i have a avi file which is 780meg i want to convert it to dvd but all the apps i use take 6-8 hours which sucks.Is there any faster way i can convert avi 2 dvd? or would vcd be faster? Surely there is a real time app out there that will do it withing a hour or 3 max. If i played the avi in win media player and got a screen video recorder which records the sound and video that is on your pc screen that would record it to mpeg in real time if the movie is 1hour 20 mins long thats how long it will take to record it. even nero takes forever to convert avi to mpeg.if i converted dvd to avi it would do it alot faster then avi to dvd. ANy ideas guys?
Time for an upgrade me thinks. A faster CPU (or 2) would speed things up. You could also disable features in your MPEG2 encoder, this would increase encoding speed at the expense of quality.
