    hi all,

I have many DivX Xvid movies that have somehow lost quality since I formatted my PC..

I have tried many different codecs and still my movies..especially the DivX ones are poor quality...

Im currently using the Xvid codec which also supports DivX, I have previously used the ffdshow codecs which provide no better quality to what I have??

    any ideas ?

Is there any codecs I can install to better the quality of the movies?

    thanks in advance!

Perhaps you had post processing enabled/disabled before? Try enabling/disabling it now.

find xvid in start menu. choose decoder .uncheck post processing.
    same in ffdshow.
post processing is what exactly it says. deblock.
to kill those macroblocks. and dering artifacts on the edges.

it may kill blocks and it may kill details
