I've been messing around lately with my new burner trying to backup some DVD's, first I tried out DVDXCopy which worked pretty well and didn't give me any errors, however 2 separate movies that I burned were flawless until about 3/4 way through when the DVD player couldn't read them anymore or they just got all skippy. The originals were fine so I tried a different program, clonedvd2 and got the same results. I have also tried them in more than 1 dvd player and still the same problems. I was thinking it is maybe the media but I am using Taiyo Yuden discs that I bought from rima.com and from what I've read these are among the best so I am kind stuck here. Any suggestions?
when you burn movies make sure you dont burn towards the edge of the disk set the maximum size to 4300 mb,see if this helps
well i tried that and the same movie burned fine again but came out completely distorted i checked one of my other burns and the burn stopped well before the end of the disc and has the problem still so i am leaning on ruling that out
nicks0r, Try Decrypter in File mode (point it at some folder on your HD), when it has finished play the file with PowerDvd or some other player, to see if it plays without problems. This way you won't create coasters. If it plays fine, use Shrink to encode that file, and compress it to 4.3GB. Good luck, Rich
hi are your discs really TY ??? use dvd indentifier or dsvd info pro or dvd decrypter to tell us media id codes off the discs... what speed are you burninf at???????????
Manufacturer ID: TYG02 is that what you meant by Media ID? i recently tried the dvd shrink/decrypter combo and after 1 disc and it appeared alright, i just skipped through the scenes and it seemed fine all the way through, i gotta burn a few more to really see but it seems perhaps the software i was using was not ideal for my specs
