Hey folks. I have been backing up dvds for a few years now with dvd shrink, a plextor writer, and verbatim dvds. The other day my plextor finally bit the dust. I had a lite on dvd writer in another computer and moved it to the computer I have always used. Now when I back up my dvds they seem to have random spots missing on the dvd. Blank blocks on the screen when playing them back. Its not that bad and it seems to happen every 10 mins or so. From what I have read on the forum lite on drives are pretty good. Anyone have any ideas as to what might be wrong? Thanks in advance!
Sounds like your getting pixlation. Most of the time thats due to cheap media and fast burnning. Maybe the lite-on dosent like the media you was using with the pelxtor. and always burn no faster then 4x so make sure you have the burn setting set to 4x or less. Also when your doing the recoding make sure you dont do anything in the background during the process and makes ure you have background programs turned off and closed.
