Hi guys, does anyone know if Ritek G05 8x discs will work in my LG4120B[A117]I added the A117 firmware &updated Nero from 6.3.1.25 to 6.6.0.16 it helped a litle as all failed during the burn now they play on my standalone dvd player but wont copy on shrink ,ends unreadable acording to nero disc scan. I can use Ritek 8x code fujifilm03 no problems. I use shrink/dvd decrypter rip to my hard drive,burn@4x,also only burn to 4300mb [See I listen to you guys]tried burning both with nero & shrink from file maybe I got a pack of fake discs if so how can I tell?

Been there done that. The latest f/ware on the LG site is A115 & it has not changed since I installed it six months ago. Since then I updated to A116 & two days ago to A117 helped a litle but a lot of litle red squares at the end of the disc when I do a nero disc scan on them, like I said on my first posting I can burn fujifilm03 riteks with no problems I also use elcheapo 4x princo & they both scan all green [both burn @1/2 speed]

    @ oziwombat hi :)
i should have thought that your LG would have burned G05's seeing as it will use Fuji03 which should ID RitekG03 1-8x +r
have a look at the hub ID marks of the disc which are very small and post them .we will see by that if they are genuine or not
but it looks to me that there OK
as Rotary says burners can be qwerky and not accept even the best of media sometimes.
so yes stick with what you knows works

Reply to Rotary Bought them from E/bay site & yes I should stick to the discs that work so well for me but who would know that the G05's would not work when the Fuji03 Riteks work so well in my LG & now I have $60 worth of discs I can not use. I wont be buying from E/bay again. Thanks again guys for your input.

    @ oziwombat hi :)
the hub number seems a bit suspect for G05s
they should be J4-07L******* non printable
    or H5-03L******** non printable
    or J4-04L******** printable
can't help with nero i'm afraid, i only use DVDDecrypter with Shrink
