I am able to decrypt the DVD and shrink the DVD. However, when I attempt to play the burnt DVD in the DVD player it advises me that the playback feature is not available on the disc. What am I doing wrong. I was thinking maybe I was burning the CD at too high of a speed I do not know. I just need help.

What kind of discs are you burning + or - also what brand are they. What make is your standalone player. Maybe your DVD player does not like the type you are using + or -. It sounds as though you are following the right methods to burn, don't burn faster than 4x regardless of speed rating of the blank discs. We need more info on discs and your methods to really help you.

I am using Imation DVD-R 8X. The brand of the DVD player that I am trying to play it back on is Emerson. I did not know that it matters, but I guess it may. I am so new to this burning DVD thing. I appreciate any help I can get. Oh yeah, I didnt understand what you meant by + or - ?

I got it to work I think I burned the CD the first time I did it at a higher speed then 4x and I changed it this time, and it worked! Thanks for responding so quickly.

Good to hear you solved your own problem, dont burn faster than 4X for best optimum results. If you look on the face of your blank discs they will be marked DVD-R or DVD+R. Not all players like both types, there are small technical differences between them. I have heard that most newer standalone players prefer DVD-R type, so you chose the right type for you. By the way I don't recognise your name on the forum, Welcome to AD.
