lol on the useless part you are indeed quite wrong,scammers don't always make new PSN accounts.
If one is lucky the scammer wont get doing anything as his PS3 will be banned if reported to Sony.
So im sure you see now that advising and helping people with a scammers list isn't useless,unless it dos'nt benefit you.

I'm not a pro at the account banning stuff, but I'm sure that you only get your PSN ID banned but not your PS3's online access banned - I know that MS bans online but I've never heard PS3's online getting banned.
