playback problems for formats recorded with WinDVR

Just before I reinstalled i was able to play back recorded mpeg 2 format without any problem for the same dvd, but after i reinstalled(i reinstalled as the windvr was not responding)the recorded mpeg has half blank screen.
no matter how many times i try it is repeating.
I must have downloaded some software which must be causing this.
Can any one tell me how to undo this and get back to recording normally?
