Is this the real deal? and does this mean Lighting UK is back? If this is true, then all I can say is that "the King has finally resurrected" and now let the legend begin once again.

What exactly does this tool do? It looks just like DVD Decrypter, but it seems to do the same as Nero. If there really is no difference, I think I'll just stick with Nero. I don't really have a need for another burning utility.

LUK did take donations. I sent $20 via paypal earlier this year to LUK. From the look of the page of that link, looks just like the screen for dvd decrypter!

I will also give a try later today! I'm also glad LUK is back and getting some payback!

    @saugmon hi :)
    i stand corrected :)
used decrypter all this time and didn't realise that. (he asked for donations to help pay his legal fee's)
yes it does look like a clone of decrypter
anyway i will still give it a try

I will be looking forward to the reports from the members of this forum as to the evaluation of this. How does it compare to dvddcrypter?...is it the same, written by the same LUK?

I just downloaded it and will take a look.

Tried it, looks almost like Decrypter, but only good for burning images to disc. LUK or not, unimpressive right now.

burned 4 movies so far no problems, it does support burn-proof which is great, nero wont support this until nero 7 , so for that feature alone it may be worth your while

Seems like it is identical to dvd decrypter, except it does not have a mode tab to rip.

Even the little folder on the right for setting the booktyping for plextor and the other burners is exactly like dvd decrypter.

It burned ok for me last night, using mds files of dvd decrypter's ISO read, but seems like a long extra step when I can just use Mode ISO read and Mode ISO write with dvd decrypter only.

Maybe IMG-RIP will be coming out shortly to take care of the ripping part, just like dvd decrypter?

It looks legit to me (just like DVD Decrypter). I guess I'll download it and try it to see how it's doing.

cause he doesnt wanna get sued and he was forced to sign contracts stating he would never develop decrypting utility / programs again (from what I understand)

as for why ImgBurn looks striking like DVDDecrypter, LUK took the sourcecode from Decrypter (what source code he still had around minus the decrypting part) , retooled and updated the burning engine , renamed it ImgBurn

    * EDIT * Direct from the ImgBurn site - ImgBurn carries on from where DVD Decrypter left off! (Well, for the burning part anyway!)

ImgBurn can write most types of CD / DVD images and it supports all the latest writers (including booktype / bitsetting on many of the major ones - i.e. BenQ, LiteOn, NEC, Plextor, Sony). You can even use ImgBurn to erase / format your rewritable media!

ImgBurn will try its very best to burn your DVD-Video double layer images using the layer break you've specified in the IFO files, but it can also calculate the best place for you, to save you the trouble.

Advanced functionality can be found in context menus that appear when you right click on various bits of the user interface. Can you find them all??!!

ImgBurn is an enhanced version of the 3.5.4.0 burn engine - and it will continue to get better and better as time goes on.
