Hey everyone. Just wondering i have serveral AVI files size is around 360-400MB. This wont fit onto 4GB DVD disk how comes?? Im using MY DVD (sonic) (this is the only one i use as Nero cost money)
Also if i need to convert the file what should i use (thats free).
I tried DVD shrink but AVI file wont pick up on that

Basicly my question is i have 7 AVI files i need to shrink then or convert them so they will fit on a dvd. Just 1 AVI file takes up the whole disk!!!

    Hello charmed26,

To convert my .AVI to DVD, I use VSO DivxToDVD v1.99 Pre-Release.

    1 x 700mb AVI file will usually output about 2gb - 2.5gb of data .IFO/.VOB.

    I can usually fit 2 x .AVI on 1 DVD5 media.

If you add more, you will need to use a shrinker (like DVDShrink) to shrink your big output and fit it on a DVD5.

And YES, you will loose quality.

.AVI to DVD has already lost some quality.

Now if your AVI are about 400 Mb, you might be able to fit 4 of them on 1 media.

Then the other 3 on a second media !

My opinion is: DVD5 media are cheap, if I can fit 2 .AVI on 1 DVD5 I'm happy about that !

    My 2 cents...
