saw some people talking in the forums about the epson R200 being the way to go to print labels directly onto a dvd. I went to the epson site and it did say: Prints directly on ink jet printable CDs/DVDs Includes convenient front-loading tray for quick, easy operation My question is: Are there special blank dvd's out there that are considered ink jet printable, or does it work on any blank?? Yes, there are special blanks for printing. Some are for inkjet, some thermal, and some called litescribe which need a special burner to make them work. The inkjet ones come in white or silver matt finish. The choice is yours. Jerry
i havent tried the silver matt finish ones yet just the white. i wonder which looks better. i have been using the verbatim datalifeplus 8x inkjet printable
The silver ones will show silver where the picture would normally be white. I have never tried the silver ones either but have heard they give a holographic look to the print because of the silver color showing through. I may try some one of these days just to see how they look. Jerry
I own a Canon Pixma 4000 printer and I use the white Ink Jet printable discs, it does a wonderful job in around 30seconds. One of my better decisions to buy this printer, images downloaded from GOOGLE. I haven't tried the silver ones, I dont think they will work
The silver ones will work as long as they are inkjet printable. Personally, I like the white ones better. The silver looks better with some labels, but I think most look beller with white. By label I don't mean a paper label but the picture you are printing on the DVD or CD. Dave
IMO the white Inkjet printables look better (cleaner & sharper) I did about 100 silver inkjet printable, but I really didn't like the appearance of them so I went back to the white inkjet printable disks. Some people I know preffer the silver so it really boils down to opinion as to what you like better I would say buy as few as possible of each and give them a try. Then decide for yourself which ones you like better. Printer: Epson R200 Disks: Taiyo Yuden 8x White inkjet printable http://www.supermediastore.com/ Ink: http://private.abacus24-7.com/home.aspx? $16 for the whole set of 6 ctg
I have found that the absolutely best printing disc is the Ritek G05. Prints beautifully. I have made many very beautiful coasters with these. I have 4 burners and any that are burned at 8X on any of my burners are coasters. I've found that most that I've checked with Kprobe or Nero CD/DVD Test Disc Quality Test have extremely high errors if they are more than maybe six months old. I used to really like these, but I think I've bought my last. I can get Verbatim printable and MIJ Maxell hub printable locally, so I now use those. THey don't look as good, but they sure work better and can be burned at their rated speed. Dave
My son purchased a 50 pack of ink jet printable discs for$23(Aus) never heard of them before...OPTODISC-OR8-00 but I have a perfect strike rate so far 37/37, that is until Nero Kacked itself. I hear many of you shudder but at this stage they work.
