hi all, i'm having trouble to burn a 1.36GB movie onto a DVD disc using naroVersion express. it said the file is exceeding the capacity on the DVD disc. and the thing is my DVD burner can not burnt DVD9 which is strange because the seller did told me that i can burnt DVD9 when i bought my burner, so i'm not sure if his a liar and if i got riped off by the shop keeper. therefore is there any program that i can use to cut some part of movie (such as the start comercial bit and the ending bit) so that it will fit on my standard DVD disc. any answer to my question will be very much appreciated. thank you all in advance.

Is the movie an original dvd? If not, what format (AVI, divx, xvid, etc...) is it in?

    azn_stud,

What's the make and model of your DVD burner? Also, are you using DL DVD discs? Have you tried DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter? You can obtain these 2 favorite prgrams right here on aD.

    Regards,

    Rich

hi bud thanx for responding to my thread.. the movie is a dvdrip and it is in Xvid format. and Mr sytyguy Rich, i though dvd decryter is a program to put an original dvd movie onto the computer. and i'm not sure about dvd shrink always heard about that program but never pay attention to it. and no i'm not using a due layer dvd disc because my burner is not compatible with a DL dvd disc. so u reckon that i should try dvd shrink? or dvd decryter yeah?
    thanx guys..

That is a PDF file, and perhaps you don't have Adobe Reader, which is a program that can read it. Go here to download the reader, http://www.adobe.com/ and on the left-hand side, select "Get Adobe Reader" and then install it.

What do you mean exactly when you say Shrink won't load the movie? What does Shrink do when you try to load it? This is after you ran the movie through DivXtoDVD right? Are you clicking on Open file or Re-author to open the movie? If you are following the guide exactly then I am not sure why Shrink wouldn't open it? The problem if there were any should have came while DivXtoDVD was reauthoring the file to DVD format.
