i have many avi files that are 16:9 wide screen, several movie files one is 640 x272, another 640 x 344 ,and one more 512 x 288 everytime i run them thru vso or some other program to get them to vob format and burn as dvd i set it to 4:3 and 720 x 480 but it just doesnt fit the whole TV screen.. what can i do to correct this?

sorry, posted this one after i realized i already posted on this site.tried to delete it but no option to delete posts... couldnt remember which forum i posted on this topic ,then realize it was this very forum when i search for all my topics tried to delete second one today but no option to do that
