I'm getting desperate and hope you guys can help me. Used to be able to burn succesfully using DVD Shrink/Nero on Windows 2000. Following upgrade to XP (SP2), big problems ! Error message during burn process - "Microsoft has encountered a serious error... Error report:-

    C:\DOCUME~\home\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERf744.dir00\Mini100405-02.dmp

    C:\DOCUME~1\home\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERf744.dir00\sysdata.xml

    Error signature:-

    BCCode: 10000050 BCP1: E1048410 BCP2: 00000001

    BCP3: 8054AEFC BCP4: 00000001 OSVer 5_1_2600

    SP: 2.0 Product 256_1

DVD Burner is a Liteon 16X DVDRW. Updated to latest edition of NERO: 6.6.0.16 hasn't made any difference. I'm running on AMD Athlon 1Gz and 512MB RAM - although the encoding /burn process was slow when it worked, I always had 100% success. Haven't changed media, so it can't be that. The only driver I updated since XP was for the Epson Printer; not touched any other drivers. Please Help.

Why not try a system restore to an earlier date when it was working OK and if its OK leave SP2 well alone.

Not sure what you mean. My lats resort would be to erase XP and revert to Windows 2000 but that seems a backward step. I'm sure I'm mising something fairly straightforward.

So you went from 2000 to xp and then installed sp2?

Did it work before on just xp before service pack 2. I have xp w/sp2 and have not had this issue.

Try a reinstall, maybe something is corrupt.
