Problems Backing Up An All Windows Boot CD

Due to some problems I recently had with an old Toshiba Laptop which didn't have a floppy drive, I needed to purchase a Bootable CD. I purchased one online, which boots all versions of windows, and it did the job I needed it for.

However, I would now like to make a back-up of the CD I purchased, which I would put away, just in case I ever had problems again and the original CD got damaged, as they sometimes do.

I basically thought it would just be a case of copying the files (all files on the CD are freeware) from the CD I purchased and burning these files on to a blank CD. However, the resulting CD will not boot my system. I tried to boot my system with the bought CD and it worked perfectly.

Having found out a little bit more on the subject, I next tried creating a bootable CD from within Nero using the files from the original boot CD. The resulting CD will still not boot my PC and now I'm unsure what to do next.

I just wondered if anyone had any tips/advice on the subject?

As i said, I have all the files I need from the original CD, so what could be the problem? Do I need to download boot images or what? I would have thought all the files I needed were already on the original CD?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

use nero and create a data file disc. if you have created a folder with all the data in it then copy the files and not the folder witht the data.
