In shrink, for DVD5s, I know the custom size should be 4300. I've been using that since I first started burning. My question is, what's the target custom size for a DVD9?

Also, the reason we set this custom size is to avoid burning too close to the edge, correct? Outta curiosity, if this is the case, how does the commercial DVD pull it off?

With the size they have for DVD9, I used it twice for the first two LOTR movies. I haven't had any problems.

    Thanks.

The custom target size is used just to be safe (especially for poor quality media) you could actually burn closer to the edge if you are using quality media. On DL disks you are more than likely fine with the default settings, but if you want to play it safe use 9000MB, but if you are having no problems with the default setting I would just leave well enough alone.

    Cheers
