    I wonder of anyone can help with this.

    I am using a Sony DW-D22A (firmware BYS3) and Nero Recode 2.2.6.1

    I have no trouble writing video files to single layer disks. However, the system always fails during the burn phase when i try to write to a dual layer disk. I am using files on my hard drive made in DVD Shrink 3.2. any help gratefully recieved. The log file is as follows:

    the layout of that second part of log has gone to crap, however can just about make out "Disc Manufacturer ID: RICOHJPN Media type ID: D00". also cannot see anything wrong in the logfile at all...

    while i haven't used the RICOHJPN DL media yet, that MIGHT be the problem? i have only tried the Verbatim DLs and Ritek Ridata DLs which have both been VERY good for me, i will not comment on the RICOHJPN DLs as i have had NO experience with them as of yet, but might be something to consider....

    @hi doc :)@ hi creaky:)
    i'm back with a squeaky clean pc after my complete make over.
    anyway back on subject
    @ billhafiz hi :)
    as kivory666 has said my experience only covers Ritek D/L as well
    it would be nice to know the disc id. RicohJPN do use Ritek
    click the link in my sig for dvd identifier down load it, chuck your disc in it and post the result

    hi gurnard,

    actually, the RICOHJPND00 coding IS the MID coding on the dvd+r DL disc~ :) there could be quite a few "brands" that use this, i know for a fact that Fujifilm, Maxell, and TDK use this and i ALSO believe Imation does too~ LOL, and naturally Ricoh themselves, but i haven't seen any Ricoh branded discs in my area...:), don't know about the other brands that are out there that use it, as i haven't seen any other ones LATELY...that i know of off the top of my head, but, those above are the ones i DO KNOW that use RICOHJPND00 coding~ :)

    but, as i said before, haven't actually TRIED one yet, so, no comments...but, if they're anything like the single layer RICOHJPN coded media, they SHOULD (keep ur fingers crossed for this) be PRETTY GOOD~ :)

    just wanted to elaborate a teeny tiny bit for clarification purposes :)

    hi Doc :)
    i like a bit of elab'ing
    like you i only use pretty much the brands i use all the time, and reccommened them with no hesatation. when it comes to other stuff ,as in the case of Ricohjpn. i go by what only a few other members say and base most of my answers on their knowledge. those members being ,your good self...creaky...alkohol...arniebear...and just a few others.
    i was just being optomistic for billhafiz on the id
