    Hello everyone!

I am looking to purchase a stand alone DVD player that has a built-in PAL to NTSC converter (at least a 12-16mb converter).

So far, I have read reviews for the Samsung HD841/HD941 (both with a 16mb PAL to NTSC converter). They are very reasonably priced ($199/$229), though there seem to be a few picture quality issues (i.e. the way black appears).

The Toshiba SD-700/SD-740/SD-3980/SD-5960 ($89/$119/$149/$189) both contain a PAL to NTSC converter, though I cannot find out how powerful the converter is (except for the SD-5960 which has a 16mb converter & HDMI output).

JVC XV-N312S/XV-NP10S have 12mb & 14mb respectively. The latter is allegedly the top of the JVC line. ($109/$165)

Any opinions? Any recommendations? Any known models with and adequate converter and great picture quality? Any other brands' models?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

I have come to find out that all of these models are modified by a 3rd party and then sold.

Does anyone know of a DVD Player with factory installed 12-16mb PAL to NTSC converter?

    THanks

Go to the following link .. I checked the box in the "other features" area marked "Multisystem/PAL to NTSC/NTSC to PAL" and there's 348 hits .. I'm not sure this is what you want, but ... here it is anyways

     http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDname=&Search=Search&multisystem=1&chipset=&country=&orderby=Name&hits=25&Submit2=Search

I just buy an el cheapo Chinese player ($50 or less) and use the P/N button on the remote to change between PAL and NTSC - easy
