Having trouble burning dvds with nero smart start

    I hope someone can help me. I am trying to burn a movie using nero smart start. i get all my files ready to burn and when i press burn i keep getting the message "insert blank cd and try again". These are brand new Maxell DVD-R disc why won't it let me use them? My driver is a lite-on DVD+RW SOHW-8225. can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong?

    did u select dvd at the top? if so it should ask for dvd.

    yes i picked dvd and got all my files on nero ready to burn. When i press burn it keeps spitting the disk out

    Did you say you have a DVD+RW drive, but were using -R discs? Anyway, you better make sure that you're using compatible discs with e.g. Nero Info Tool.

    JODI, i had the same problem but the other way round couldnt figure out what was wrong for aaages, youve bought dvd-r right?
    and ur drive is dvd+rw? your drive wont b able to read dvd-r or dvd-rw
    so in future only get dvd discs with a plus sign.
