Looks like you may be running out of memory. Try closing programs running in the background. Don't multitask while burning.

I tried icreasing memory even with 91MB free I get this error. My Window XP takes 221MB and Nero take 84MB. How much does NERO needs to burn? BTW I can burn CDs with out problem. This error happens for DVDs only.

    Thanks

Have you been able to burn DVDs with this configuration?

External burners have to go through a USB port and sometimes the problem occurs with the cable. If you have burned DVDs before I would assume this is a USB 2.0 port and not a USB 1.1 port.

Yes I have burned before. Using DVD Shrink and Nero.
After recent s/w upgrade and s/w installation all burns have failed.
I tried to burn DVD+R and to my surprise it worked.

    I am confused DVD+R works and DVD-R fails !!
