i've only been burning dvds for about a month and have tried several programs to get the best burn and encoding time. my dvd burner came with the software listed in my signature and that has worked everytime but is very slow. ive also tried Cucosoft MPEG/AVI to DVD/VCD/SVCD/MPEG converter pro version 7.02 and Nero 6 (i think it was 6). Cucusoft worked faster but it won't read in my DVD players (it just keeps looking for the info) and Nero didn't work in my DVD players at all (just says disc error). can anyone give me their thoughts as to why this might happen?
Try encode to dvd compliant format with VSO (free version), then burn with e.g. Nero: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm VSO is pretty fast and sure. Good luck!
i have tried using that VSO program and it in itself seems to work fine but using Nero didn't work. maybe i'm just doing it wrong. any basic help guides for Nero floating around? and what version should i use?
If VSO did its work well, then try use e.g. Nero Recode for the burning: Run Nero Recode, choose 'copy entire dvd to dvd', then 'import dvd', then go choose the video_ts folder of the converted movie, and follow the lead from there. Or if you have Shrink, follow more or less the same procedures. Good luck!
