DVD-Video files reallocation failed

I am hoping someone will be able to help me.
I was using NERO and Shrink for good quality burning. It worked fine. But, at some point a connection between DVDShrink and NERO got lost. I tried everything, such as installing and uninstalling NERO and Shrink, but it did not help. It says "DVD-Video Reallocation files reallocation failed".
I tried it with different DVD-files without a success. It works fine with DVD Decryptor, though. I have just tried to do it step by step. I used Shrink first and saved in to HD. Then I used NERO and successfully furned it to DVD. It is possible, but you know it is annoying and needs more attention.
If you have any idea please help!

Well, it did not help. I uninstalled NERO, did cleaning, installed it back with the same success. I have no idea how to fix the reallocation problem.
Anybody knows?

I have created a small file to do my tests from Forsite Saga. It takes 3-4 min for the Shrink. I have also tried on another small DVD file, cteated from avi. Before, I had the same problem with full size DVD, like Chocolat.
As I mentioned before, Shrink works great if I save created folders on HD. NERO has no problem with them and burns well. I have no problem with creating ISO and then burning with Decryptor. The only problem is with Shrink-NERO relationship.
AS I said, it worked fine before, but something has happened and it does not work now. It was comfortable for I used to leave it for a night and have a back up copy in the morning.

As Creaky pointed out, the main problem that you're having is with Shrink, not Nero. One of the files that's listed in the Main Movie File List (normally called VTS_O1.IFO) is missing from the VIDEO_TS folder that Nero is being asked to burn to disk. Until you figure out [bold]WHY[/bold] that file is missing, Nero will continue to hang up at exactly the same spot (providing that each of your errors is "File Missing").

If you know how to work with your directory system, find the file that would not burn and LOOK at the contents. SEE if the file that Nero is bitching about really IS missing. This is your starting point to figuring out what Shink has been screwing up.

Interesting point. I have to figure out what Shrink does differently when it prepares files for direct Nero burning and when it is saving to HD.
Because in first case it does not work, second - no problem.

Hello again,
Here what I did. Test #1: used Shrink and asked it to burn the movie with NERO. Files were saved in DVDTest1 flder. Test#2: Used Shrink and asked it to save files in HD for later burning, Folder DVDTest2. As before, in Test1 I got the same message about reallocation failure. The moview was not burned. The files were saved separately, not as AUDIO and VIDEO folders. Then I used NERO to burn these files in the folder (DVDTest1)NERO had no problem to burn them. In Test2 files were saved in Audio and VIDEO folders. Further burning with NERO had no problem.
When the files were compared, they were totally identical, same names, same number, same size. NO VTS_01_02.VOB. Only VTS_01_01.VOB. I do not understand why it should be _02 when the file is too short.
To make it short, NERO burns everything fine, but when Shrink is asking it to do that, it wants _02 instead of _01. Could that be changed?

I spent the better part of an hour trying to duplicate your problem, but could NOT get Shrink to do what you say it's doing NOR could I get Nero to fail to burn the file. Since I can't duplicate your situation, the best advice I can offer, at this juncture, is for you to Re-download the latest (and last) version of Shrink, and do the same with Nero. Un-install both programs, do a registry cleanup and a hard drive de-frag, THEN re-install the NEW downloads of both programs.

Other than program errors, I honestly can't think of another thing that might be causing your problem. Good installations of both programs work; we BOTH know that from past experience.

For the record, I'm running Windows XP Pro on one system and Windows XP Home on my other. I tried to duplicat your problem on both machines with the same (negative) result.

I am sorry to hear about your spending so much time to duplicate of what seems to be impossible. Yesterday late at night I did exacttly what you are advising. I uninstalled Shrink, RESTARTED my PC, installed the latest Shrink. I tried it with NERO and it worked.The only DIFFERENCE with what I had done a couple of times before, that I RESTARTED my PC after uninstalling Shrink. You were absolutely right that the problem was with Shrink, not NERO. Great help. Thank you Mike and Creaky. I hope this will help someone to fix the similar problem.

It has been quite an experience, for I had been working on the problem for 2 days. So many hours of doing a lot of tests, installing and uninstalling. Thank you for reviewing my system. I have updated my Pioneer software. Somehow the company did not informed me about it, as they had done in the past.
This was my secont time having problem with Shrink. First time I fixed it very fast by uninstalling-installing. The program in not stable but when it works it does a wonderful job.

Certainly, not. I do not know anything better to do the job. It is simple, works fine, and it is free. Very good program. I am in movies and am reading AfterDawn all the time. However, I have not found a good converter from DVD to avi. The latter is the best in terms of quality. The forums make it very comlicated, for they advise a lot of programs and time. Could you advise something good?

Glad you finally got it together, Roma. One of the tools that I have been using for many years now is called "Registry First Aid." It cleans up your computer registry completely and SAFELY in no time at all. I have fixed a lot of program conflicts by simply Uninstalling the suspect software, then doing a "Registry Cleanup" and a De-Frag. The two together are like a breath of fresh air for the system and "Seem to" make everything work better.

I am [bold] NOT [/bold] pushing this program in any way, it's just a suggestion. It has never failed me in the past, and it has NEVER messed up my systems.

I see you know everything. I have posted a new thread on a simple problem. You might know the answer right away. I want to check if video CDs and DVDs are recorded in PAL or NTSC format. Do you know how to check ?

Nobody knows everything, and I know far less than most..

However - Video CD's and DVD's are not recorded in either format. They are in the Industry Standard [bold] digital video format. [/bold] It's the "Players" which change the Output to match the viewing system being used.

Could be a Computer Screen, one of many types of Portable Device, a PAL or an NTSC TV. In all cases, the PLAYER being used determines the output [bold] format [bold] that will be required for proper display.
