Hi I am trying to Burn My personal music Videos with Nerovision Express I am using TDK DVD-R 4.7GB 16x compatible I was succesful in burning one Music Video with success it used up about 1.GB of space
and now for some reason I cannot burn other Music files Nerovision Express will transcode most and then will hang for ever. When I have added files it shows that I have about 1.GB of free space on DVD . Can someone please help me with Nerovision Express maybe I need to configure my settings .

You should not rely on Nerovision for converting video files - it's the weakest part of the Nero programme. What file type are your videos in eg avi, mpeg? You should always use Nero burning rom to burn audio files, not Express. Are you using the OEM version of Nero or the full version?

Hi, the video files I am using and have used before with Nerovision Express 2 are AVI & Mpeg. The Nero Version is the Full Version. Also I use MusicMatch Burner Plus when I Burn Audio Disc. Would you happen to know of any Alternative Reliable Software Programs that I can use , it seem that this version of Nerovision Express 3 is not very reliable since I have used previous versions of Nerovision in the past that I had no problem with. Was also wondering if I need to download codecs like mpeg encoder or the like?

Yes, I use DivXtoDVD to convert the files - does a superb job. The latest edition comes with a trial version which you can download from here. This version should also burn automatically after converting the files:-

Hi thank you for the link to DivXtoDVD. I dowloaded and used the program software pretty cool took about 7hours to encode and Burn but it did do it's job since it was the trial version I guess it was expected.I was disappointed when I saw .....WWW.DivXtoDVD in big bold Letters across my Music Videos also I could only view the Music Videos on my PC which I already can since they are in my PC. All in all it is a pretty good program I'm considering buying it but gotta resolve this issue first with being able to Burn My Music Videos so I can play them on My DVD Player Again thank you for your reply most appreciated.
    Sincerely vamps_2

    @vamps_2 -

if you've used Divxtodvd to convert the music videos to dvd format, and then are simply using Nero Burning Rom to burn to dvd, then the logfile you've provided is fine. (you've provided the entire log too, usually the LAST section is sufficient, the sections are divided by this line "====== *** NeroAPI, History File *** ======". subsequent burns are appended to this logfile, hence why there's more than one log entry..). no biggie, just letting you know for future reference..

If you want to post a Nerovision log, search your system for nerovision.txt and paste here...

    - as you've got a few different log entries in that logfile, i imagine you've been reading up on some of the other Nero threads as you've made a good move here further up the log, and removed Nero's horrid InCD program...

right, have singled out one of the log entries -

    - firmware's up to date

    - 4465MB is too close to outer edge of discs; if you use DVD Shrink, set target size in Shrink's preferences to 4300MB, thus avoiding outer edge of discs and not sacrificing much space

    - not the best discs in the world, but they seem to be working ok

    - see previous comment..

What i will say is i was going to convert my many music videos to dvd format, so i tried divxtodvd for a handful of videos (as i didn't want to wait forever for it to churn thru 4GB worth of videos) and a few of them came out with big green splodges all thru the video. I didn't bother pursuing this idea as i have far too many music videos and they're all recorded with different codecs etc etc, and that's why i think i had so much trouble. good luck!, and don't forget the nerovision.txt...

Hi, someone in the Forum (wish I could remember their name)was kind enough to recommended www.WinAVI.com Video Conversion so I downloaded the trial version and it is a pretty cool program (retails for $29.99) friendly user interface trascodes really fast I had successful burns was able to play it on my DVD Player finally ..............but unfortunately the quality was Choppy and The Audio playback was very speedy and choppy. But alas I was able to play My Music Videos on my DVD player I gueass I am getting closer . I e-mailed their Tech support so hopefully they will reply. Looks like you have a problem with everything there is mate! Seems you are not using a blank disc, your computer has a virus, the burner itself is not working and Nero is having a fit! You should uncheck the boxes in Nero for - pathdepth more than 8 characters....and allow more than 255 characters (both of these boxes should be unchecked). The real problem I think however is your PC is infected with a virus. You will need to get rid of this which may mean formatting your HD first. You may have got the virus from one or more of the music tracks or from the music video - I presume you downloaded these? You should always have a decent antivirus and antispyware programme running on your computer at all times.

Hi I do have Norton Internet Security which did catch a Virus which I deleted all other programs are working fine also I am able to burn successfully with DVD Shrink , WinAVI with no Burner Problem am able to watch my Burned Video's on my Stand alone DVD Player . it is Only with these Music Files that are of different formats that do not seem to transcode and Burn with Nero Vision 3. I am able to Transcode and Burn successfully with another Music File that is Below 1GB with Nero Vision Express 3 so maybe there is a problem with the different file formats there are AVI, Mpg ,Svcd, Windows Media file and so forth. also there are other post with the same issue with Nero Vision Express. So am still looking for other probable issues with Nero Vision.

P.S. I also have a purchase version of DVD Info Pro
and I check to make sure that the DVD is Blank since
I am using them from a new DVD case I bought.
so I don't understand why the Nero Log would read otherwise.

The formats themselves seem ok, but you cannot expect Nero to compile and recode several different formats onto one disc. All your avi's should go on one and all your mpg on another, etc. If you use DivXtoDVD to encode the files to DVD format then you can use NeroVision express to compile a DVD video with a menu screen.

that's not the correct log, we need nerovision.txt. that file you posted is just like a generic error lookup file or something..

If it's the log specific to "Nerovision"

    C:\Program Files\Ahead\NeroVision\NeroFiles\Nerovision.log

Hi , I have tried seperating the AVI files from The Mpeg and burning them seperately while Using Nerovision 3 but this method does not work either, process still goes through the same motion will trancode and half way it will hang and I have to abort the process via Control+Alt+Del and stop the process manually . I am not able to save a Log File of this problem since I manually stop the process I have left Nero Vision 3 running all night to see if maybe it will finish to no avail. Hence I am not able to save a Log file I did find this other Log file in .....C:\program files\Ahead\Nerovision\Nerofiles. this is a Log of one of the burns that was created when I used DivXtoDVD the Burn was successful but I could not view the DVD Video on My Stand Alone DVD I have used WinAVI and it Burned successfully onto the DVD I was able to play it on My Stand Alone DVD Player but Quality of the Video was very Choppy including Audio sound. So with WinAVI I have had more success jut that the playback quality was not good, and this gives me hope with My Music Videos.

Hi than you for your reply I have the latest full paid version of Nero 6 ultra edition 6.6.0.16 .... about a couple of months ago I downloaded ForceASPI 1.8 New! off this website ...............

    http://force_aspi_18.w.interia.pl/ ForceASPI 1.8 NEW !!!

ForceASPI is a suite of scripts designed to install the latest Adaptec ASPI layer on your Intel x86 (or compatible) 32bit Windows operating system.

ForceASPI ignores the system requirements which are imposed by Adaptec's own installer and allows you to install Adaptec ASPI 4.71.2 on your PC regardless of your hardware or software configuration.

The scripts which make up ForceASPI will automatically detect your operating system and install the appropriate files correctly. The following operating systems have been (breifly) tested...

    Windows 98 Second Edition
    Windows ME
    Windows NT 4.0
    Windows 2000
    Windows XP
    Why use ForceASPI ?
These are the main reasons I created ForceASPI and why you might want to use it...

No ASPI Layer in Windows 2000 and XP
Windows 9x and Windows ME ASPI Layer sucks
Many CD Digital Audio rippers require a working ASPI layer
Many DVD Rippers require a working ASPI layer
Most CD-R wirting application require a working ASPI layer
I have been applying this hack manually on my own systems and decided to automate the process and let everyone benefit
Plenty of other reasons I cant be bothered to list
    forceaspi18.zip
forceaspi18.zip is a tool provided by Gordon Gray.

    forceaspi18.zip [77,30k]

    Installation
Simply extract the .zip file to a directory somewhere. Open a Command Prompt and run the appropriate .BAT file(s) as required.

    Usage and Instructions
Here is a brief description of what each script does.

    1. instASPI

Installs the latest, 4.71.2, Adaptec ASPI layer on Win9x, WinME, WinNT, Win2K and WinXP. Any existing ASPI Layers will be overwritten.

    2. dumpASPI

Creates a backup of your existing ASPI layer, or parts thereof. Some Win32 operating systems do not have an ASPI layer, in this situation you will create an empty backup.

    3. restASPI

Restores the ASPI layer backup created with 'dumpASPI'. WARNING! If your ASPI backp is empty this will completely erase your currently installed ASPI layer.

    4. killASPI

This will completely remove your currently installed ASPI layer.

    5. killDUMP

The deletes your dumped ASPI layer.

I would recommend that you use ForceASPI in the following way...

Run dumpASPI to backup your current ASPI layer
Run instASPI to install the new ASPI layer
    Reboot your PC
Run aspichk to see if everything worked OK
    aspichk.exe
aspichk.exe is a tool provided by Adpatec to report what version of the ASPI Layer you have installed and checks if everything is working OK. To test your ASPI Layer with aspichk.exe just download it and then run it.

    aspichk.exe [245,76k]

Here is one example screenshot of what aspichk should look like after a successful install. NOTE! The number of Host Adapters detected will is dependant on your hardware configuration.

    History
    ForceASPI 1.8
+ Now uses the latest (4.71.2) aspi drivers ! The Command Prompt windows close on completion and the registry keys get added without prompting. Prepared by Gordon Gray for you.

    ForceASPI 1.7
+ The Command Prompt windows now close on completion and the registry keys get added without prompting. Thanks to Apachez for these suggestions.

    ForceASPI 1.6
+ Compatibility fixes for Win9x. Thanks to Tymoteusz Swiech

    ForceASPI 1.5
+ ForceASPI now updates the registry with the appropriate keys to fully enable the ASPI layer, even on ATAPI only systems. Hopefully this will be the end of the remaining issues. Thanks to Stuey for pointing out my oversight.
    - I have fixed some erroneous messages generated by ForceASPI when running under Win9x.

    ForceASPI 1.4
    - I have fixed a major bug which caused some of the scripts to fail under WinNT 4.0. Sorry, my bad. Thanks to Tronje Bäßler for spotting it.

    ForceASPI 1.3
+ I have added a pause at the end of each script of people running the scripts from Explorer under WInNT or Win2k can see the script output before the windows closes.
    - Fixed a typo in restASPI.bat. Thanks Jozart.

    ForceASPI 1.2
    - I have removed aspichk.exe from the ForceASPI distribution and added download links to the documentation
+ The scripts display a more complete status while running
+ The scripts error checking is slightly enhanced
+ Added killDUMP to remove your dumped ASPI layer
+ Various HTML, documentation and typo fixes

    ForceASPI 1.1
    - I have reverted to simple .BAT files as the compiled .COM files didn't work under WinNT and Win2K
+ The scripts will now abort if they detect a non-Intel x86 CPU
    - Fixed typos in HTML and resized screenshots

    ForceASPI 1.0
    + Initial public release

    To Do
    Auto reboot option
    .INF installer maybe

It seem that I would have the correct ASPI installed I also have the ASPI Checker and it reads that ASPI is installed properly and fully operational. would you recommend re-installing it?
