Replacing Xbox DVD Drive

    One of my Xboxes is a 1.0 model with a broken Samsung DVD drive, would I need to find the same drive for replacement? Or will any model (Samsung, Thomas, etc.) work?

    As long as you're replacing it with another Xbox DVD Drive then you will be okay.

    There are a couple PC DVD Drives that you can modify to work with Xbox, although it will take away the ability to read original Xbox games and turn your Xbox ugly.
