Hey everyone. First off, I want to clear the air and admit that I am 100% a newb to the modding scene. I had my XBOX modded about 2 months ago, and have just been picking up on bits and pieces since then. Secondly, I am looking for some help so that I no longer have to pay someone else every time I want work done to my box. So to fill you in, I'm not exactly sure which mod chip was used in the process of modding my XBOX. All that I know is that I had a 400 gig hdd installed and I run through Unleash X. I haven't had any complaints with the set up, and I know that it is very simple to update and maintain the programs once they are installed. Now my questions begin. I own 3 more XBOX systems and would like to mod them as well. I have no clue how to sodder, so I need a simple mod chip to install, any suggestions? Also, I know how to install the new hard drive, I'm not quite that dumb. My only question about the hard drive is how to lock it. I have checked through all of my settings and noticed that my drive is locked and must be locked in order for the mod to work correctly. Once I lock the hard drive, I'm pretty sure that I can install the necessary programs, but just in case, is it possible to transfer them from my already modded box? Well hoepfully someone can help me out. Like I said, I am a newb, but darn it I'm trying. I would really appreciate the help guys. Thanks.
for the modchip i use xecuter 2 that was the lastest at the time and works fine there is a newer xecuter 3CE chip but that cost more and i dont feel the need to upgrade a modchip that works fine.you can find out how to lock and unlock drives by readiong through the forums.i didnt soldier my chip myself as i kinda soldier like a blind monkey.do a soldiering course and they should teach you how to soldier if not get someone that can do it for you for a 6pack of beer or a packet of smokes.mine cost $60 for the chip $80 for the harddrive and $10 to get everything installed and get the drive and chip put in.be very careful the most common problem is people destroying their msdashboard when they upgrade.im still trying to fix mine.
i have a question for you...please answer. where would i find the maps to download them into my pc. for halo2 of course. thnx
