How to put microsoft word files on the ipod?

I have a couple of doc. that i have on my pc and i would like to put them on my ipod could someone please tell me

 

you cannot

.doc files are not supported only

appleworks,microsoft windows xp notepad.txt files only

 

open up for file on microsfot word, save as a regular txt, u'll lose images and fonts and such, but u didnt expect thsoe on ur ipod ne wayz
