Recently, I have had a run of several burnt DVDs freezing up in my dvd players. At first I thought that it was the brand of DVDs (Maxell) but it has done it with Hp DVD-R also. I have had the same DVD freeze up a slightly different places on different DVD players. Is there anything that I could be doing wrong in the burning process that is causing this? I use DVD shrink and DVD Decrytor and do not receive any errors when I am ripping them. Help!!!
Hello autiger, Maxell is good media generally. There are several things that could be causing your problem. First you may have burned the disks at too high a speed and ended up with a less than high quality burn. Many of us never burn in excess of 4X. Second you may need to update your burner's firmware. Let us know the model of your burner, its firmware version, and the speed at which you burned the disk.
