What do you think is the best dvd9 to dvd5 converter? Ive been using DVDshrink but have seen many people say that they don't like its encoding abilitys. Im looking for something quick not something like cce with dvdrebuilder. Out of clonedvd, dvdshrink and all others whats the best for quality? Thanks

    DVD Shrink----Excellent for the price[bold]FREE.[/bold]

Nero Recode---Very similar to Shrink but part of Nero Ultra package. Somewhat better encoding than Shrink

Clonedvd 2----My first choice with Anydvd combo.

Everyone will have their 1st choice depending on what they like best.

I have all 3 programs. I still go back to Clonedvd 2/ Anydvd combo for all my backups. To me it is faster than Shrink or Recode but still delivers excellent quality at 65% (35% compression).

@nick2004, I like Recode 2 as well. I use it in conjunction with two other progs...Intercopy 3 and CloneDvd 2. Intercopy has caused problems for many when re-authoring (I have had two distinct problems but beyond that it has work fine.) I use Dvd Rebuilder Pro/CCE Basic as my favorite combination of Program and Encoder. It was only $10 when I started using Rebuilder Pro, now I believ it is $30.00. CCE Basic is incredible as an encoder and even with major compression dow3n to 50% the quality is awe-some. It takes time to set it up, and it comes with a few free encoders that do a super job as well. For beginning, Shrink is free and easy, I think Recode 2 has better quality, but I'm a quality freak and on a 55 inch 16X9 HDTV Quality is critical.

dvd-rb(dvdrebuilder)is the best proggie out there.i use it with the free HC encoder on pass and the quality has been great.shrink with decrypter is easy to use and i do like that.nero i still am not sure of only used it once and it was to me okay.dvd-rb has free versions to try it i think www.dvd-rb.com.it comes with the HC encoder which i think is a great encoder.just my 2 cents.
