I have an RCA DVD Recorder/VCR combo (DRC8295N) and am trying to copy a recorded tv show from a video tape to a DVD. But when I put the DVD-R disc in I keep getting a "Disc Error" message. I have tryed both memorex and maxell video discs (4.7GB) and get the same error. Maxell disc are on the list for my recorder as acceptable discs. Am I missing a step here or do I need to try a different brand of discs. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure that recorder uses -R media? Most of the RCAs used to be limited to +R type media.

Thank you Laddyboy, I went back and found a piece of paper separate from instruction booklet for the RCA Player. It said just what you advised; to use a Maxell (or several other options) +R disc not a -R disc. I am successfully recording the tape as I type. Thank you for your assistance.
