    Hi there!
    I have read the most I could about dvd burning and I still have problems to successfully burn a dvd-r. From 12 tries, I've only got to burn 2 DVDs.
    I am using Nero Recode and DVD43. At first, that worked well, and my first dvd was not a problem. After that, the nightmare started. Finally, I read something about DMA and I've changed the configuration of my secondary IDE channel. I uninstalled it and it allows DMA. The first DVD I tried to burn after that worked. Today, I tried another DVD and its still not working. It seems that the problem is not the DMA. I really need help. Thank you very much in advance! Here's the error log:

    Hi breno, first of all Edit out your serial no 1A20#########etc which is at start and ehd of post. Click on pencil and paper on bottom right side of thread and Edit then hit save. May I suggest you try the NERO discussion forum as the guys there are handling these queeries all the time.

    your nero is to old 6.6.0.16 is newest

    get nero update here - http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/nero-up.php

    Physical memory : 95MB (97776kB)

    Free physical memory: 53MB (54608kB)

    you need more memory, upgrade another stick, disable all programs not in use, and no multitasking

    Recorder: TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552U, Media type: DVD-R

    Disc Manufacturer: CMC MA - G. AE1

    the media your are using CMC is junk, quality media is a must try verbatim, sony, taiyo yuden

    @breno

    You really need to edit your post and take out your Nero serial before someone else hacked it. Other people probably got it by now.

    Anyways, I agree with all of the above mentioned. Since you're all taken care of already, below is what I recommend.

    This is way too low, you really need to upgrade/add more RAM to boost up your CPU.

    This is the issue here, CMC MAG is inferior when comparing to today's media technologies. You really need to use high quality media such as genuine Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Maxell (Made In Japan) and Ritek for your next burning project.

    Get rid of that junk program aka Roxio. It won't do any good to you, it conflicts with Nero. Go here http://www.downloadjunction.com/product/store/15199 and get the zapper to completely wipe out Roxio from your system.

    Thanks for the tips guys, i really appreciate it. I had actually bought HP dvd-rs thinking that it would be a superior quality media. I will buy the above mentioned media next time. As for RAM, I am really not good at dealing with hardware so I dont think Ill be able to add a stick if it is too complicated but ill keep that in mind.
    Sorry for posting the serial number and thanks for removing it! I had no idea it was there. What will happen with someone got it?

    Thanks again

    @breno

    You're welcome. Well, for adding more RAM, all you need to do is, check what kind of RAM you have inside your computer, then go buy another 512MB and open up your computer, then just put it in next to the one (original) that's already inside your computer. That's it.

    You still need to edit the second part of your log. Your Nero Serial is still in there.

    What will happen with someone got it? Well, they can just download Nero use it for free.

    Wow, you guys are great!
    I know this is off-topic but i have scanned my system and it says my ram type is "DDR SDRAM". When I go on online computer stores they have either DDR or SDRAM memory sticks! what do I do????

    Thank again!

    ..........and EDO...................BUT THEN WE ARE getting old.

    Have a look at the ram in your pc first.It shoulfd have numbers etc on it.Just get another sim of 256,512 etc to match your existing.Prefferably the same as you dont really want to mix and match them
