Let get straight to the point... i have a 339MB RMVB file which i used VirtualDubMod to convert to AVI... and it happen to be 9GB plus... cos i wanna convert this RMVB to AVI and change it to MPEG and burn it out as DVD format where i can watch it on my tv set...

Anyway to reduce the size while while keeping the quality?

And it's possible to convert AVI to DVD straight away right, instead of converting it to mpg first?...

unless you have a player that supports playing raw avi files you have to convert the file to mpeg2
Why dont you find a converter that will convert straight to mpeg2.This is your best option.O'h i should point out that converting the file from one format to another is going to make it larger.9gig seems a bit excessive ,i would of thought at most 900meg.Are you sure you havent mucked one of the functions

Some programs (e.g. Winavi) would convert directly from rmvb to dvd compliant format.

I also agree with andmerr about the resulting size of the avi.
