I recently upgraded my RAM to 2, 1 GIG sticks of Geil PC3200 SDRAM and I thought that when I used ONES DVD software that my burn time would decrease(burn quicker) but it's actually burning SLOWER than when I only had 2, 512MB sticks!!

It's takinga good 25 minutes now when it use to only take about 6 minutes!!???

    Can anyone help?

My system does see the memory, type and amount so I don't know what's going on.

    Thanks for any replies.

I remember a thread about this subject. When you update your system it also updates your burner which as a security feature makes your rips slower than normal, or I could be wrong? That's why I use my external burner if i'm in a rush.

    When you say

"When you update your system it also updates your burner" what do you mean by this. How and what makes it slow?

Would I have to reflash the drive's firmware to get it back to normal you think?

I think I figured out the problem.

It had to do with the transfer mode not being set to DMA and was set to PIO.

There are threads in here that you can find by searching under those descriptions.

    Thanks to those that responded!

I went from 30minute burn time to 12 minute!

    That's more like it!
