This is what you should do for the TMPGEnc Plus:

go to 'Option' in TMPGEnc menu, Environmental Setting, VFAPI plug-in, DirectShow Multimedia File Reader' and prioritize the DirectShow plugin.

This Happens when the AVI file you are encodeing has an Unsupported Audio format Like VBR MP3 or Dolby AC3 both of Which are the Most Common formats used in Downloaded Movies and both are Not supported In Tmpgenc.....

The way to Overcome this problem is to decompress the audio in your AVI file before you encode it in Tmpgenc and then way you decompress the audio in your AVI file is to use the simple Tool that you can download Here:

    http://www.megaupload.com/tr/?d=FU50BMK3

After decompressing the audio in your AVI file useing this Tool Just encode it in Tmpgenc and the resulting Mpeg file will have audio....

    Cheers
