hey there, i'm still in need of some help here. i've taken my dvd burner down to 4x like someone suggested but still didn't help, i've checked the audio on my dvd player with no luck there either. what's happening is i'm copying a movie and then burning it, when i put it in my dvd player the previews and all will play fine and even the lead in to the movie itself but once the movie starts there NO sound. the picture quality is great theres just no sound. Can someone help me please? if theres something technical i need to do please be specific cause i'm a little slow with electronics.

    thanks
    Robin

Have you tried playing the movie on your comp first? I did strike a movie I downloaded once with no sound, it didnt happen in the burn, it just didnt have any sound when I tried it on my comp.

Make sure when you run the DVD trough whatever program your using that your choosing to use all the AC3 audio channels. What it could be doing is recoding the DTS audio and not the AC3 which if it is you need a sound system with a DTS decoder in it to hear the sound.

You probably have the AC3 2 channel audio selected for the menus and extras etc etc. and have the AC3 5-channel or AC3 6-channel not seleted and the DTS selected. Which will give you that problem. Sound on menus and trailers and extra's but no sound on the movie, Due to you choosing the DTS sound instead of AC3 5-channel. Outcome doing this is no sound on movie because your sound system cant decode the DTS sound file.

So go into the options and deselect DTS audio and make sure the AC 5-channel is selected. Then recode DVD and it should work.

i am having a problem hearing sound on a DVD+R copy i made of a DVD-R movie. this is not a commercial movie, it is a dub of a tv show from VHS i believe. i am not sure which type file the original was burned from.

thing is, both the original and the copies i made play fine (video & audio) on my stand alone player but they don't play audio on a friend's player. the video is fine but no sound is audible.

i haven't tried the original DVD-R on my friend's player. could it be that his player doesn't accept the +R format? i don't have the specs in front of me right now.

any ideas on what to try next? thanks in advance.
