I hope this is not a repeat because I am confused and hope someone can help. I went to a nationwide store and was told how to save a video clip to my harddrive and did so. Then went back and bought a burner with nero software. Installed it and suddenly windows media player would not work and I had lost the saved video clip so I could not burn it. Did I do something wrong in installation so that windows media would not work. Any ideas about any of this paragraph would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
As an update I uninstalled nero and did a systems restore to an earlier date and now windows media is fine. But I have to decide about reinstalling nero and trying again. Thank you for any input
It is strange for Nero to conflict with windows media player. But my advice would be to set up a restore point and try install Nero again. If things go wrong, you can always do a system restore. Also, if Nero works well but WMP does not, you can always switch to another media player. P.S., if you have Incd, do not install that. It has been known to cause conflicts with other softwares. Good luck!
Here is a sight for a nice open source player: http://www.videolan.org/ I use this one and it does not seem to conflict with any of my programs.
Thank you - I did already do the uninstall and now I wonder if I could have set it for too many defaults and that is why it made WMP not work?
