Sorry for the numerous posts in various threads, its just i'm anxious to complete this dvd. I think i've figured out why dvd shrink and dvddecrypter aren't working right. I have a dell deminsion 3000 pc, and thought they came equipped with a dvd burner, but i guess mine doesn't have one. Is there any way of telling for sure? If i don't have one, will i have to purchase an external burner?

click start click my computer and see what your drive says

and you can buy an external or just replace the drive you have now with a cd/dvd burner (which i would do) a couple good brands to get are Plextor,BenQ ,NEC,Liteon thoses are some of the best brands

The only drive listed is C drive. How would i go about replacing it? Send it to dell with a store bought burner and have them install it?

You may have bigger issues..? Go to your device manager

Click on start then select your "My Computer" icon and right click on it. Choose "Properties" then select the tab at the top that says "Hardware" then select the button that says "Device Manager" there you will see all of your devices listed. Where it says DVD\CD ROM drives click the little plus button this should expand and tell you what drive you have. You might have an issue with your drive not being recognized and if this is the case you could have a yellow or red dot besides your hardware that is causing problems. Heres a way you might be able to fix your problem. While in the device manager go ahead and expand your IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and then right click on everything you have listed under there and select uninstall/delete. Then re-start your computer and Windows should detect and load the drives for you.

    Good luck :)

nero wont work by its self it work in conjuction with dvd shrink .the best program to get is CloneDVD 2 with anydvd ,very easy to use and great quality and theres a 10 dollars off this month making it 49 bucks which is a great deal and this program will do the newer movies which shrink and decrypter cant anymore by them selfs (not updated anymore) get yourself a decent burner brands to look at are Plextor,BenQ,NEC,Liteon and heres a guide to start you off burning
