Start at the beginning with the free programs DVD Decrypter, DVD Fab Decrypter and DVD Shrink. These are all availble from AD and http://www.filepedia.com look under rippers. The Decrypters will rip your movie and DVD Shrink will compress it to fit on a single layer DVD5 disk, and Decrypter will burn the image to for you and also Nero will burn it if you have the program. Make sure you have decent media i.e. Sony, Verbatim, Maxell or Fuji. Burn at 4x and insure your burner firmware is up to date.

Go here for all the guides you need.

You also need to make sure that you have a DVD burner, I say this cause some think that a DVD player is the same thing as a burner, and that your firmware is up to date as it can change rapidly with changes in the industry.

It is also important that you buy quality media for burning your backups. Media suggested at this site are Taio Yuden, Verbatim, Maxell,
Sony there are others but stay away from Memorex, HP, and other no name brand media as these will cause problems with playback or make what is commonly know here as coasters.

If you have questions, look the threads over and feel free to post.

Good Luck and welcome aboard AD.
