I can't seem to play any videos in Nero Showtime, it doesn't matter what format they are I get sound but no picture. The user guide says that to fix that problem is to get a .avi codec installed but I don't know where to get hold of the codec, can anyone help me.

    Thanx

I downloaded the K-Lite codec pack (Full) but still there is no picture. I don't really understand the whole codec thing, the Media Player Classic works fine with the videos & so does Windows Media player but I want the Nero Showtime player to work.

If someone can help me understand what codecs do etc. much appreciated.

    Thanx

Well, did you by chance installed K-Lite Codec Pack onto your system? You have to install K-Lite Codec and go into "configuration" and check on Nero ShowTime for the support. It's been awhile since I use K-Lite, but it's in there somewhere you'll have to dig a little deeper and tweak around, once you set the settings, then it should be square away.

Try uninstall and reinstall Nero Show Time.

Yould you please let me know how you got nero show time to work.

I installed k-lite codec pack and also tried the tweak tool but still I am only getting sound and a blurred picture.

Not sure what else to do.

The way that I did was go into K-Lite codec pack-Configuration-Codec Tweak Tool, then the last option under Codec Management you will have NeroDigital Parser & Nero MPEG 1/2//4 & AVC Video Decoder, just enable those 2 options if they are disabled.

I think that is all I did I can't remember but I hardly use Nero showtime anymore cause I've converted all my videos to Quicktime.

It's been a while, but I'm glad you were able to fix your codec issues. That's what I usually recommended "k-lite codec pack" to other people when they're having issues with the audio.
